The unstoppable Norther Irish win the World Championships for the 10th time!

Well the almighty Field Marshal Montgomery blitzed the field again with a clear 5 point win over Scottish rivals, Inveraray and District making this their 10th win and 4th in a row. The contest was run over two days and this time all grade one bands had to play in the qualifying heats on day one which left a final field of 12 bands vying for the top spot. Jim Kilpatrick MBE and his Shotts Drum Corps took out the coveted Worlds Drumming prize.

An excellent standard of music yet again set by 341 band performances over two days in inclement weather on Glasgow Green, a delight to watch and if you didn’t get there or see online, you can still watch the performances on the BBC website (link below).
