A site devoted to the devoted Pipe Band Drummer by Dean J Hall

Barry Wilson

World Solo Drumming Champion 2007

Over the course of the past few years, this new web page on the subject of Scottish Pipe Band Drumming for the Pipe Band Drummers of Continental Europe has been launched.  The intention is to provide you, the pipe band musician, with ways and thoughts to improve your technique and creative expression.  Those of you who know my teaching style also know that I do not advocate that my way is right, only that it is a way.  By combining my new ideas with your own current knowledge the aim is that your own abilities and expression will develop.

All suggestions, ideas, positive criticism and contribution offers are welcome so please contact me with your thoughts.  (link to contact us page)

Bookmark this page now so you can return to see the latest updates on this site !

I am also manually creating an email newsletter list to keep you informed of changes to the site and up and coming events.  So if you want to be kept informed, all you need to do is send me an email and ask that you be included on the news list.

Finally, I would like to acknowledge the following people for inspiring me in my drumming life and for helping me directly on this project : Bert Anhalt, Bobby Rea, Stephen Creighton, Paul Grace, Conor McNally, Dave Byrne, John Dunne, Paul Turner, Reid Maxwell, John Keogh, Andrew Scullion, Brett Staley, Philip Howell, Harold Ripper, Ian Bouch, Alex McCormick, Rob Bennett, Ian Morison, Chris Sinclair, Andy Ogilvy, Dougal McConnell, Bruce Neal, Sean Mannering, Carel Ooms, Monika Hämmelmann, Buzz Brown, Gary Killen, Murray Blair, Donald Blair, Mark Saul, John Edgar, Eileen Morgan, Tyler Fry, Jim Butler, Graham Waller, Dave Budge, Doerte Goetzke, Robert Hall(Dad) and Rona Hall(Nan).  Thank you for your inspiration.

To all of you who are seriously mad about drumming like I am, then this is going to be a seriously great ride !

Get on and Drum on !!!
